A Message from the Scoutmaster
Welcome to Little Chute's Troop 51. We are a Boy Scout Troop that is chartered by American Legion Post 258 and has consecutively rechartered under this organization since 1992, with origins going all the way back to 1922 (see our About page). Troop 51 is a very active organization with a focus on fun and teaching the boys good values and leadership. We believe that the Scout Oath and Law do impact the future of boys in a very positive way, and realize this is done through many contact hours and meaningful life experiences.
Troop 51 invented something called SCOJECTMENT, a collaborative effort between adults and Scouts to organize a new way of planning in our Scout Troop. It all starts with awareness, because a family can only get their scout to things they are aware of and contact hours only occur when a Scout attends our events. To ensure EVERYONE in our community is on the same page, we hold a public PLC where we encourage everyone (Scouts, Parents, & Leaders of other groups we are working with) to come together on the first Thursday of every odd #ed month for a Planning Meeting (held at the Civic Center in Room N1), where we assign duties for Scouts to run activities and events, then receive announcements from the Scouts on what their plans entail.
To see our emphasis on Jr leadership, jump over to our "Active Program" tab to see what we're up to... and who's responsible for it. Consider visiting our "History" tab to see what we've done. We truly believe in Helping other people at all times and take pride in sharing our documents with any Troop interested in seeing what we've done and how we brought it to life... where our end reflection, the Start Stop Continue, provides the greatest value.
